The furniture is so deliberately chosen to look 'funky' and second hand that there is little thought to how it will be used. I tried two different types of stool and both were ridiculously uncomfortable. There was a table that you could not slide your legs under. It was just solid so you had to sit sideways. The coffee had a bitterness to it that was a little unpleasant. I had a toasted egg and bacon sandwich. The bread was nice but a single egg for the whole sandwich seemed a bit out of balance. It was $9 so reasonable price. My partner had eggs florentine and added bacon. $17. One poached egg was well cooked but the other was hard in the middle. The service was good with food and coffee coming quickly, especially with a packed place. If they eased up on trying to be so cool, got some comfortable, practical furniture, made sure their coffee was bang on and kept the food consistent then it would be fantastic.
